Thanks all....

There are MANY points to contend with in that list, in fact I would start from scratch instead of even trying to "point-by-point" whats wrong with it.
It this level you REALLY should be using Intel...
And Forget Crossfire unless your using 2 of the absolute highest end cards available(which is just a waste of money anyway)
EDIT... OK under $1500?
Heres a quick list...
Intel Core i7 920 Nehalem 2.66GHz $300
GIGABYTE GA-EX58-UD3R Intel X58 $190
Western Digital VelociRaptor for OS $160
Western Digital Caviar 640GB $75
Crucial 6GB (3 x 2GB) DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) $145
EVGA 01G-P3-1280-AR GeForce GTX 280 $325
OCZ StealthXStream 600W $50
Total if allowing $150 for case... $1,450
I just threw out that video card, I would pick another with the leftover $
(VC's arent my strong point)Last edited by JPMiller; January 20th, 2009 at 10:29 PM.

LOL JP nailed that one.
Just one major point you picked a board that doesn't support SLI, not that anyone here would recommend it, but you need to buy a board with support for it if you plan to use it.
Side note, what is it with everyone wanting to grab these 780g boards for builds lately. They provide a great on-board video solution but other than that there isn't really a reason to buy one
on another note, please don't create multiple threads, one is more than enoughLast edited by RicheemxX; January 20th, 2009 at 09:58 PM.

ok....
I will not go over 1600.....that's the absolute highest I will do for this.....
So 600W will be enough juice? And the velociraptor is just for the OS? I've partitioned for an os...but never a separate drive.....
And if I'm going with a single GPU I wanna get as much as I can within my budget....Last edited by tom_servo; January 20th, 2009 at 11:07 PM.

Has it occurred to anybody in the Quantitative Easing and Easing crowd that we have a Stock Market recovery but not an Employment recovery because we don't have the reinvestment in our own Economy...
