No video signal with Jaton NVIDIA 8400 GS video card. Please help!

My HP m8100n has an on-board NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430. It has a pretty weak video and game performance and also doesn't have DVI output. I decided to replace it with Jaton PX-5580DLP card which's based on NVIDIA 8400 GS. It's a cheap but relatively decent slim profile PCI Express 16X card with 512MB DDR2.

Jaton card installs nicely and securely into free PCI Express slot of m8100n. Problem is that as soon as I switch PC on there's no video output at all (no BIOS prompts, nothing, blank screen) - whether I connect the monitor to DVI or VGA port. Same if I connect to the old built-in VGA output. As long Jaton card remains installed no video output no matter what. Interestingly judging by hard drive activity PC proceeds to load Vista.

I guess there's some kind of conflict. Any suggestions?

Have you tried to go into the BIOS and disable the on board graphics, save and shut the system off, install the new card and see how it goes? There should be an option in the BIOS to load from the on board graphics or PCI-E and or disable the on board graphics. Either or you will have to do that first then save and power off the system then install the card. If the option is to boot from either the onboard or PCI-E then boot off the PCI-E. Hope this helps.
