| x64 Driver for ATI Mobility FireGL V5700? Hey guys, I've been charged with upgrading my company's Lenovo W500's to x64 I've found all the drivers accept 1, the x64 Display Adapter driver. I've searched on the Lenovo website... they dont support XP x64. I called Lenovo, the guy couldn't even tell me what company makes the deviec. I've searched on the AMD/ATI site... they dont have a driver for this card at all. I checked Autodesk... they only have x32. I've checked the forums around town... and I keep hearing that this card is just a Radeon 3650 and Lenovo decided to soder an extra 256mb of memory onto it and call it a FireGL though I know that its got some OpenGL Tweaks the Radeon doesnt have. Can someone set me straight on what this card is, who makes it, and where to find an x64 driver if there even is one? This would be a huge help!!! |

What OS. YOu mentioned 64bit, but not what specific OS.
EDIT:
AMD won't let me link to the actual download.
Go to this page: Drivers & Software
Click your OS. Click on the "FirePro", then select your 5700.

I received the following error while attempting to install that driver:
"Setup did not find a driver compatible with your current hardware or operating system. Setup will now exit."
It looks like that is the driver for desktops, I'm looking for the mobility driver for laptops. |

Hmm.. That's interesting. I'm not sure where you can get drivers for that then. If that driver won't install, that is the only driver for that GPU I see.
Maybe someone else can help ya. Sorry. |

I think there must be a different driver the one posted above is for the:
AMD: ATI Fire Pro V5700
The GPU I'm looking for is the:
AMD: ATI Mobility Fire GL V5700
Thanks for looking into it If you or anyone else has any other ideas I'd totally appreciate it! |

Did you ever find a solution to this? I'm still having the same problem. I can't find the proper drivers for this on AMD's or Levovo's websites. |

| Try Driver Heaven
I have the W500. You have to use DH's modder tool and get the catalyst from here DriverHeavenDownloads.net - Fast n Furious then use the modder tool here Mobility Modder - DriverHeaven.net Follow the steps given here. Remember to switch disable the UAC from MSCONFIG before you mod the driver or it won't work properly. Also after you have modded the driver, go into BIOS and switch display to DISCRETE. Once the computer start up you will see a driver being located and installed in the system tray. Ignore what is happening there and do not restart when prompted by Windows. Instead go into C:\ATI\SUPPORT\..... where your modded driver folder should be located and do a setup. It will tell you that windows does not recognise this driver which is a side effect of the modification. Install the driver and reboot. You should also download the switchable graphics driver from Lenovo's website here Lenovo Support & downloads - Drivers and software - ThinkPad T500, W500 and reinstall that if you want that option to work properly. Shut down and start back up, go into BIOS, restore your Display defaults and save and exit. Hopefully everything should be in order. You should see the ATI icon in your system tray, and if you right click on the desktop you should be able to avail of the switchablegarphics feature in your W500. Good luck! |
