I've had this ATI Radeon X800GTO for a year now and I haven't had any problems until now. I was playing a game(L4D) and it froze on me. I couldn't get back to desktop, so I had to hard shut-down. I started my rig back up and I get nothing. It posts and everything...but no display. I figured that it fried, but I'm not sure.
So I used my integrated card and I get a "ATI control panel failed to initialize because no ATI driver is installed..." error message. I figured I need to install new drivers(which were already up to date). Also I read that I should delete the old drivers and run Driver Cleaner Pro, so I did. After doing that, I downloaded the latest drivers and tried to install them... it starts to work but it never brings up the installer. I tried in safe mode, also in vain.
I'm hoping my card isn't fried. The fan is running and its' not smoking or anything. I've played this game on this GPU for over a year now w/o any problems. I don't think I overheated the card... and it ran at stock.
