| Sony Vaio Laptop VGN-FZ21M Vista downgrade to XP Video Card Problem
hi,
i have a sony viao VGN-FZ21M laptop with a GeForce 8400M GT. i have recently downgraded my OS from Vista to XP and have the following problems:
after hours of trying to get my system to work the way it should, i have now run out of ideas. in all my games (e.g. wc3, cs 1.6..) i have problems with my display drivers. i have various graphic issues which do not let me play any of my games. the moment i enter a game i get error messages (e.g. display drivers stopped responding) or the graphics are just totally messed up (e.g. Directupload.net - Djidu4e38.jpg
)
i have been searching for adequate drivers for days now. i have installed and upgraded everything that seemed relevant. i have installed a few drivers with modded .inf's too, but nothing seemed to work.
i would much appreciate any advice you have for my current problem.
best regards,
binow

I've the same issue, but mine is a dell. I guess the graphics card supports for vista don't seem to work with xp and maybe this is a permanent issue! |

Have you checked the manufacture's web site for drivers? Have you gone to Nvidia and downloaded their latest?

How do i know which driver I require? So far as I can see in device manager I just see intel drivers, not nvidia! |

I guess going by Intels driver detection, Intel® GM965 as my display driver. I've a Dell XPS M1330 with 2 GB RAM... Not sure If you want any other config dtls!
Also I'll try to use the above link to look for my driver updates.
Thanks a lot Aaron |
