Dark spots on LCD monitor (unlike pressure spots)

Sounds like a problem with the panel itself, as opposed to the backlight for instance. Unless it creates a problem seeing the desktop, it's not worth bothering about.

If it's an older monitor, it looks like it's on its way out. Perhaps it's a pixel that's dying. In which case, I'd suggest running this dead pixel test. I not too long ago had a monitor die out on me, you can get a real decent LCD for roughly $100.

Looks like what happened to an old PIII lappy of mine. That one looked a little like it had burn marks on it. Screen still worked though. Your monitor is dying bud.

Sorry, my fault for assuming. Yes, outside the US, things can be quite a bit more.

I have the same problem, pic is spot on to what I'm experiencing. Guess there's no real fix, just replace? Seems these spots are multiplying

It has nothing to do with pixels. It's something between the glass layers. Any chance there is a lot of moisture around this computer? Anybody use glass cleaner on it? Put a suction cup on the glass in the area of some spots and very very gently pull on it. Do the spots change?
