hd 2600 or 8800gts

hi guys would like to know which is better out of the nvidia gts 8800 or the ati hd 2600, a mate of mine has the nvidia and i have the ati looking at trading my ati in or my mate says he will give me his nvidia to trade in seeing as the store that buys them offers more for the nvidia and i give him my ati card but obviously my mate does not want a card which is worse than the one he has, hope this makes sense to you all but would like some opinions on this

No competition.

The 8800 is better than the 2600....

The G80 will double the frame rate for most games, the G92 will be much better.....

ok cheers guys i thought the 8800 would be better this is what i told my mate, just needed a second opinion we wont be swapping i said to my mate he would be worse off if we did now i know its all good

yeah, I was running a 320MB 8800GTS when I had gotten the 2600 Pro for my 2nd System a year and half ago, and on a similarly spec'd system (CPU was in roughly same performance range as the one in my Game rig, despite it was an AMD X2 CPU running at slightly faster clock speeds, than the C2D that was in my game rig), and saw about half to 1/3 the frame rates for the same games (though at the time the 2nd rig was running 1024x768, and I was running anywhere from 1280x1024 to 1600x1200 in the other rig, so even with the frame rate drops, the lower resolution should of lessened the difference, but it didn't)
