problem with my nvidia GeForce 8800GTX

i have nvidia GeForce 8800GTX 768mb, few days ago i faced i problem, suddlenly red lines appeared on my screen and it won't go. i can't log onto windows until and unless i start in safe mode. but sometimes the red lines don't appear and ot runs for some time but now it is regularly appearing. i changed my card and the red lines disappeard. so please help ME. any help would be of great help

It sounds like you have a bad video card. You can contact the card manufacturer about getting it replaced if it's still under warranty.

card is either dying or already fried.

have you cleaned the card to make sure there's no dust build up?

its possible it was overheating if its not already too far gone.

if it was cleaned and the fan was working, I'd lean towards my initial statement above.

is there anyway that i could get my graphic card repaired, i tried going to the company, but it seems that they can't help me. so if anyone knows a solution to the problem, pls do post an reply. thank you

if its not the GPU thats fried, and your VERY good with soldering, you might be able to replace things like the memory or capacitors, but if not, your shit out of luck, and need to just buy a new card then.
