Hi,
I'm advanced IT student, like PC a lot:]
I've got iiyama vision master 502 21", I know it's big and old, but it has better parameters than a lot of LCDs and it's great CRT. It has 120Hz at 1024x768 and 85Hz at 1600x1200. I use 1280x1024 at 100Hz in Windows, in games 1600x1200 85Hz. I used Windows XP all the time, but recently installed new Windows 7.
I cannot understand why microsoft or nvidia forgot about CRTs... I've tried to set the same resolution which I had in XP: (1280x1024 at 100Hz). Okay, I set resolution, but I can only choose maximum 85Hz... I spent hours for looking a solution. Finally today I removed the 2 pins from connector, so Windows can't recognize my display. But, this didn't help, when I choose 100Hz now, Windows disables the visual styles, so 7 looks like XP

I've tried changing to 100Hz and 120Hz at 1024x768 - something happens, but when I check real refresh rate at the monitor, it's still 85Hz...
So I think, Microsoft or nVidia or both did it on purpose to make people buy new LCDs... Like the Samsung is in the commercial with 3D Vision. Okay, I will buy new LCD, but when my actual brakes:P Why to make people's life so difficult.
In the result, I will go back to XP where everything works great and fast...
