If there's an Office Max by you they have a 23" Acer on sale for $159. Can't find it in their web site, but just picked up 2 of them locally. Try that first.
The Acer has HDMI and a better resolution. If out of the 2, would go for that one.

The Acer you picked out is a 1920x1080 reccommended resolution.
What is your video card? Most newer ones should support it. As you go bigger in screen size, you want a larger resolution. A big screen with a small resolution will look blurry. If your video card doesn't support the resolution, I would go with a smaller screen that it does support or consider upgrading the video card if you want to stay with this size/resolution monitor.
Please reply with some games and video card ( make and model ). If you want an immediate answer, you can look on the manufacturers web site or Newegg and find your card/games. It is usually there on the specs. page. |

From your post, looks like the gpu will support. Problem with older games is they don't support the higher resolutions. If you want the older games to look good, get a smaller screen. Personally, I would get the Acer you mentioned or the Acer I posted about if you can. The older games won't be around forever, and alot of newer games do support the higher resolutions. You can play the old ones on the big screen, but will be dissappointed with the newer ones on a smaller screen, knowing you could have gone bigger. The older low resolution games don't look that bad on the bigger screen, just a little blurry as it is stretched out with less detail. |

Mine has the power button underneath, yours has it as a circle button on front. Maybe trying to get rid of old stock with the same model/part #. They are great monitors though. |

I like my Acer X193w+. I expect the larger versions would be at least as goodl

Related question. I am using my parents 18 inch widescreen in the meantime. I was playing a new game and the monitor went to sleep after about a half hour of playing. I restarted it and everything is ok. my computer runs hot. I have a monitoring program installed and try not to let it get above 65 for too long. Can the pc being too hot make the monitor go to sleep? Could my pc running hot have been responsible for breaking my other monitor? thanks. |
