"No Signal"/ freezing issue during game

I'm hoping someone can help me with this issue that occurs only when I'm 1-2 minutes into the game. After the map loads, a minute or two later the monitor blacks out and I get either a "No Signal" or a "VGA out of range" signal followed by complete loss of display and sound (speakers are separate from the monitor so i'm thinking the mobo is affected also) but the computer itself continues with power. The only way to get video back is to perform a hard reset on the computer. Everything seems to work fine except during a load. PSU, GPU, and CPU fans are working fine and I already tried running with the the case open and the same result occurs. I used ATI tool to monitor card temps which are around 50C at idle and the highest I've seen under a load is 71C. This mobo has no temp sensor so I can't get you temps. So far the only games I have tried are BF2 demo and BF Heroes.

Recently I upgraded the PSU to a 500W made by CoolMax model V-500 http://www.coolmaxusa.com/productDet...ategory=single and a graphics card ATI X1300 PRO 256MB AGP. The computer is Dell Dimension 4550 (yes i know what ppl say about Dells but just bear with me here since I won't be doing heavy gaming).

Complete Specs:
Dell Dimension 4550 P4 2.55Ghz w/ Windows XP Home SP3
1GB RAM
256MB X1300 PRO AGP (350W requirement, power molex is plugged) w/ most recent Catalyst 9.8 drivers

Well IDK what else you might need but if anyone can help I would appreciated. Thank you!

Hi, eltro85:

Welcome to TechIMO.

My Dim 4550 is our main machine in this household, so no need to apologize!

Have you tried a lower screen resolution or all settings turned down to minimize the strain on your video card?

I was able to play pretty stable using using minimal settings on BF2. High settings on HL2 and High setting on Bioshock. On bioshock i played for about 1hr before it went to a black screen. The temperature never reached above 60C so I'm guessing it's something else not working right. Do you have any opinion on the PSU I purchased? The card requires 350W. What should i look for in a psu in case this one was not sufficient?
