Hi, sureahh:

Welcome to TechIMO.

"Dedicated graphics" refers to a discrete video card, which your "budget" machine does not have. Rather, your graphics adapter shares system memory. If device manager shows "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter", you may not have the correct driver installed. Go to the HP downloads site and search for one.

Hope that helps!

Send a message via MSN to pullmyfoot
usually if you install your own OS on a pre-built they are not going to support it with drivers. sorry, you are out of luck there. Im pretty sure your P4 system is old enough to have came with XP.

You have a very out-of-date and unsatisfactory-sounding computer ._.
I hate Intel graphics. Apparently your setup is similar to my old one. There shuold be drivers available from the Intel site (rather than the HP site) for this video card (which I'm assuming is the GMA 900 from Intel; note that the GMA 900 does not support Aero due to hardware scheduler limitations). Considering that it's hard to find out what is your video card if the computer cannot report what it is at all, this could be challenging. You should contact HP to ask them what exactly is the video card that came with this model, then search the Intel site for the drivers.

If they can find out the Motherboard Model and or Chipset used in the System, then one should be able to find the appropriate video drivers over on Intels Website.
