Projector Burn-in same as LCD Burn-in?

This might not fit in this section, but i've always gotten good feedback in the past so wanted to post here.

I've had an Epson Powerlite projector for several years and have only had to replace the bulb once so far.

About a month ago, I started getting bad burn-in after watching widescreen movies or leaving the projector on without moving things around or letting the screensaver kick in.

From what I understand, this isn't too much different than burn-in on a lcd monitor. I've tried using some 'screen fix' apps that display random color patterns but they don't do much.

Just wondering if there is anything I can do to help this, or just wait for it to die so I can finally get a new toy
