one thing has me worried whether a true dual slot card, though short, will fit with that ATX power plug next to the card like that?
I know one card that should fit, would be miles above their old card, close to the 4670's performance, and wouldn't tax that PSU at all is the Geforce GT220's
at least most single slot versions.
though best thing to do is look for a factory Overclocked version using GDDR3 memory. Newegg.com - EVGA 01G-P3-1228-LR GeForce GT 220 1GB 128-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards
(I know they don't ship out of country, but its an example)
price of that card is more than a 9600GT which would beat the GT220 hands down, but there are cheaper slower clock versions as well, short, single slot, not a lot of heat generated, and not much power required either.
this palit might work also, cheaper, but the fan only extends a little beyond the slot, less than the 9600GT and 4670's they were looking at. Newegg.com - Palit NE3T220SFHD51 GeForce GT 220 512MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

That's what I was thinking, but the GDDR2 threw me off. I don't recall that type of memory being used in 9600's, but I could be mistaken.

I noticed today that I ha crept up right behind you in the folding stats asd was surprised. Looks like you usually run two machines but only 1 right now.
Sarah_Lee surprised me,,nver saw her coming but she zoomed right by with 3 machines I believe. I get a great feeling about the contribution as I am surviving pancreatic cancer right now. Thank You for your contribution.
Seems like the usual crowd is a little quieter lately, preoccupied with Monopoly. I don't have time to play. Best I can do is to keep all 6 cows up plus the two builds I did with decent GPU's but nothing great. Getting maybe 10K PPD from the collective.
Take care.

some of the single slot 9800GT's might fit, especially the redesigned Shorter versions, like the one Zotac in here... Newegg.com - Computer Hardware,Video Cards & Video Devices,Desktop Graphics / Video Cards,GeForce 9 series,GeForce 9800 GT
though not sure how well the fan is for cooling, looks a bit small for that heatsink.
but some of those EVGA, XFX, and PNY models should fit, even with MicroATX there should be just enough room for one of those, might be tight, but should be close.
as far as performance goes thats your best bet as far as I can tell. few 4850's to choose from in that slim a profile (roughly the same length as a full size 9800GT), and those cards run hot as it is already, so not sure how hot they get with a single slot cooler that restricts airflow and venting, unlike a dual slot card. |

LOL, Networker, probably should just post that in the F@H chat threads, though we all do it from time to time, best not to Jack or crap a thread, not related to the current ongoing discussion here, otherwise a mod might come by or even one of the Wannabe mods around here (members who think they are and have to PM you and chew you out for it ), and chastise you for doing that LOL. |

I'm a sensitive guy with extremely low self esteem. Of course, he was correct but never heard of him before.
For guidance I look to you, KK, Nunya (even Aaron, who trys so hard for everybody )Lude Newd and a few others,,,
I'll PM you, don't we have unfinished business?
Tomorrow is the BIG day, my new crap cards come in. What did I order? 8500 0r 8800 1GB GeForce cards,,,, Maybe put those in my new CM Storm Tactics SNIPER case. Buying an ASUS or some mobo Ican SLI a pair of 220's or Maybe wife will let me order two 295's. I'll tell her she has to sell a horse to finance this new build. I got up to 26 today in the rankings, right behind RicheemXX, he has a machine down.
I want the new Black i7 Quad core but for New Eggs $1,006 price tag I feel so guilty.
Later, back to Fox news and the horror of today. I wonder how many sleepers are out there?
Thanks, |

Hi I've just returned from the store with a .... R4650.. I know it's not top-of-the-bill, but the salesman was being a real dick about the return policy and I didn't want to run the risk of buying a card that doesn't fit in. So I settled with something 'less', which is still great I hope. It fits in perfectly and I'm downloading the drivers right now |
