    New Graphics Card

Hey, I'm running a pretty old PC (Dell Desktop Dimension 2350) and want to upgrade from an integrated graphics card. The reason I want to do this is to play a game whose minimum system requirements are:

Processor: Pentium 4 2.2 Ghz or Athlon XP 2200+
    Ram: 1 GB
Video Card: GeForce 5 and ATI 9800 w/ 128 MB VRAM or Intel w/ PS 2.0 and 128 MB VRAM

I also only have 766MB RAM on this computer. What can/should I do?

    Hi and welcome.

We need to know a little more, like your exact system specs, as there where a few variations on CPU etc... In pre-made's. Also need PSU info (which will require you to open the case and look at the sticker). We need Make, model, watts and +12v Amps.

    Also what is your budget?

    What is the game?

Edit:- Looking at the basic specs on dells site.... It can only take 1gb (max) of DDR RAM. The fastest CPU they could of put in there is under the min.... Worst of all is that you have no really GPU expansion slot, (no PCI-E or AGP from what I ca see) which leaves you with PCI.... Which are very low end cards, not really intended for games....

There is really not much you can do if it is.
You only have PCI slots, and the best PCI card, would probably not be much better than your on-board.

One of our video card expires, came up with an external a few days ago, but your processor is pretty slow, and would bottle neck high performance cards.

I'll see if I can fined the post, but I know a new computer is what you need.
I upgrade to the bitter end, but I know it is really a wast of money, after a few years.

Hmmmm...okay. Well, what are some cheap desktops that I could look into that might be able to play this game?

    Hi Aaron.

    Thanks stroyal.....

Afraid as stroyal mentioned the hardware is too outdated and upgrading it will still not make the game run smoothly (if at all).

If you are looking at a new system, how much do you have to spend? Can you build one yourself?

man, that is kind of limited, I just reread one of the above posts, a max of 1GB of RAM? On a Pentium 4/Athlon XP era PC?

Crap, even my Socket A Athlon Thunderbird 1.3GHz system (late PIII, Early PIV era), was able to use 1.5GB of PC133 SDRAM, back then.

of course it was custom build, but still.
