need to install four monitors on a computer

    hello,
i am sure this question has been answered before, but i wouldnt know how to look for the answer since i dont really know what am i asking.
my mother in law started working in finance and needs for monitors on her computer. i have been reading a lot of forums the last couple of days and got a glimps of what i think she needs. a friend of mine has added another possibility and i would like to know which is the best option.

    1) i can get a graphic card with four dvi exits.
    2) i can get two graphic cards with two dvi exits each, but then i have to make sure the motherboard can handle to graphic cards.
    3) i can get a graphic card with two dvi exits and a video card with two dvi exits.
    4) what my friend told me: i can get a graphic card that has only one dvi exit and an hdmi exit (which are most of the new graphic cards as far as i know) and connect the monitor with a hdmi-dvi adaptor and then get another graphic card or video card with similar features (depands on the motherboard).

what should i do? which option is the cheapest? and which one will cause the least problems?

another thing i would like to know conciders monitor mounts\stands.
in my country i can get a four monitors stand for the crazy amount of 800 US$. i saw on the net stands that cost between 70$ and 90$ that seem perfectly fine and have to option of tilt and going side to side on it's pivot, so i cannot understand the difference. usually things are more expensive here, but not more than 50% and defenately not 1000%.

    thanks,
    michael

    Welcome to TIMO

For starters your options are going to be limited by the available expansion slots the computer has. So its really essential to know the make and model of the PC or make and model of the motherboard. Without that info we really aren't going to be able to help much.

Second a graphics card and video card are the same thing. If your friend doesn't know that you need to steer clear of his advice.
