Dell Optiplex GX620 Video card upgrade help
I have a Dell Optiplex GX620 full size desktop. 3.2 Ghz Pentium 4 processor, 2Gb RAM and an old Intel 82945G Express Chipset that just isn't getting it. I want to upgrade my video card, but I'm not sure of what will work with my current configuration Could I get some help. I don't want to spend a fortune, just upgrade to something decent. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Stevewitt,
Welcome to TechIMO.
Your GX620 has one PCI Express x16 slot, so you'll have plenty of choices there. Your PSU, however, is only 305W. If your new card requires more power, you can upgrade with most standard generic ATX power supplies with either a 24-pin or 20+4-pin main motherboard power connector and four SATA power connectors.

Thanks for getting back to me osprey4. I'm a noob so I want to make sure I'm understanding correctly. As my PC stands right now I can upgrade to any video card that's supported by PCI Express x16 and uses 305 watts or less? For instance would an ATI Radeon HD 2400 Pro 256 MB PCI-E x16 be a decent upgrade or should I set my sights a little higher? Thanks again.
