It would seem 0.16 does not work with the 5870m, but I was able to raise the OD limit with RBE and atiflash through a win98 bootable device. I imagine if there are any desktop 5770 or maybe even 6770 out there, they might have the same problems. That is just a guess.

700/1000 core/memory stock (it's downclocked 5770 stock, being a laptop) currently overdrive minimums are 700 core/ 500 memory (would be nice to go insanely lower for crazy battery increase).

I've had it stable at 875/875 (wierd timing I know), but the cooling solution I'm working with is not adequate for obvious reasons to take it much higher.

    Hello.

I've been using your software since some time now without any issue, but since Catalyst 11.11 the GPU clock reset to 0mhz when I use it.
Purging the registry restore it but then I can't overclock higher.

I don't know if I did something wrong or if AMD changed something...
My card is a 6950 by the way.

    Cheers.

Well I just loaded 11.11 (From 11.8) without even doing a clean install, and it worked fine on my test setup. GPU-z and CCC both show normal clocks. CCC and afterburner confirm the higher clock values I entered as well.

Oddly enough, AMD's website under the release notes says Windows 7 needs SP1 installed, but it's not on my test system and these drivers still installed and work fine.

Anyway, the tool and these drivers along with CCC seem to be working with 11.11 on my test system at least. Either an odd glitch on your end, or you may need to do a driver uninstall/clean then reinstall.

I'm still on 11.9 on my main system as anything newer doesn't seem to bring anything to the games I play, so no need to mess anything up that is working.

Hey TimoX, i joined to thank you for racerx, it is awesome, but I am in dire need of 50% powertune. I saw your post on techpowerup that you were able to do this but need to test it.

I am using 2x toxic 6950 (both unlocked) and have 50% in ccc with no tweaks. When setting the powertune, i MUST set it to 50% or i get throttled at 950/1350 (with 1.25v set in trixx).

When i use your program, i can run stable at 1.25 but with only 20% PT i get throttled as low as 925/1350.

I have tried every trick known to man to use trixx and ccc together but with crossfire, it refuses to keep the powertune that i set

i am more than willing to test the powertune trick you have, even if you want to point out what registry or command. this will save my soul if you could, lol.

I have a 6990 and this reg hack does not work for it I end up losing access to OD in CCC, gpu speeds become locked to 250/150 in 3d no matter what I manually set them too, and lastly I lose the ability to monitor gpu usage in AB and aida64. I'm using drivers 11.11C to be able to play rage and skyrim. I'd also like to be able to set powertune up higher than +20%. I just installed the 8.94 drivers from dec 22nd and can no longer run the racerX program error 13. I am used to editing the registry by hand RacerX if you could give me a suggestion as to what hex code to set PP_PhmSoftPowerPlayTable I'd be grateful thanks.

    Hey Racerx,

    Two problems --

    1. Now that I have Catalyst 12.2's installed, the racerx program gives me "Run-time Error 13" whenever I run it, no matter if I use administrator/compatibility/CCC closed/etc.

    2. When I use an old .reg file I've had from before, it changes the Clock/Mem limits in Catalyst Control Center (which is where I want to do my overclocking, rather than Afterburner). But the problem is that Powerplay keeps resetting to 0%!

It doesn't matter what value I change it to, whenever I click apply, it always bounces back to 0%. In fact, ALL of the values reset back to their defaults, including the Clock/Mem speeds that I had originally set in the Racerx entry.

Is there a way to fix the Powerplay value that keeps resetting? It's driving me crazy, and I can't run a game without it at 20%.

Thanks for all your help, providing this great utility of yours!

Thank you for this wonderful contribution. I have tried using the RacerX v16 app and keep running into the same problem. Having gone through this entire thread, I didn't find anyone mentioning this causing changes to their fan profiles.

I have a Sapphire 6950 Dirt3 Edition and a 6950 Toxic in Crossfire with the Dirt3 as the main card. Once the registry entries are added, the Dirt3 seems to take on the fan profile of the Toxic. The problem is that, on load, its fan should be running at roughly double the speed of the Toxic's. This is confirmed by watching it reach 80C within a minute of running Furmark, with the fan speed around 40% when it should be around 80% by then.

Has anyone had any luck figuring what applies to the fan profile? The only thing I have found so far, having the registry sub keys 0000, 0001, 0002, and 0003 and looking at the string in the 000X\HardwareInformation.BiosString key, is that 0001 and 0002 seem to apply to my first card (Dirt3), while 0000 and 0003 apply to the second one.

Problem here too, 6970 rev 2, with +50% Powertune.

I think its caused by wrong value for Powertune, as it sets it to 20% and then probably its the same issue like with wrong default/min values.

    Hi guys,
Any chance of this working for a 7970?
I just got my water block installed, and would love to push it a bit harder.

After watching what the program does in ProcessMonitor, I think I've discovered where it's getting the error from -- right before the program errors, it opens Profiles.xml, the config settings files that Catalyst uses.

Racer looks like it's opening that file up and reading something inside of it. My guess is that with the newer drivers and Catalyst Control Center versions, the Profiles.xml file is a different format or changed a bit from when RacerX originally coded it.

So without knowing how to define the new values -manually- within a custom/manual reg file, we're out of luck. I've tried deciphering the .reg files that Racerx makes, trying to find where exactly the values are within the hex code. I can see the lines where the values are different across .reg files (I had some old ones from when it worked), but I can' decipher what's what -- translating the hex to decimal doesn't give me anything distinguishable as to what would be the values that I had defined in that reg file (like 1875mhz decimal).

    Anyone have any ideas??

Yeah, it's getting a bit out of hand.
Also, the forum as a whole has WAY too many ads.
Literally EVERY post has an embedded ad. That's just silly.
Besides, I'm not seeing any actual answers in the thread.
Has anyone gotten this to work with a 7970 yet?

No idea what your talking about the ads for, barely have any on my end, aside from some of the occasional key word ads in posts, which aren't that intrusive, but have barely any other ads on my page at all, aside from the bottom of the page.

Maybe it comes with more ads being a newer member after so many posts, or could be the web browser your using, but its been a long time since we've had "Too many" ads on here.

As to the spammers, the traffic for that comes and goes it seems, some weeks we can go with barely any spammers, and then some days we end up with 20 or 50 of these tools posting in various forums, various types of spam, etc.

the most common though are the ones hocking those stupid vid eo conv erter software sites and programs. (Spaced the words in hopes of lessening their searches for key words to spam with... this thread has seen enough of the spam this week, don't want to draw anymore into it LOL)
