Replace Dell Inspiron 1520 laptop Graphics card?
Hey guys,
I've somewhat recently run in to a problem with my laptop's graphics card, as describe in the following link: Kernal Mode Exception Not Handled/Video TDR Error
It appears as though the problem is hardware related rather than software related. I was wondering if anybody knows if it is possible to replace the graphics card on this laptop or the entire motherboard would need replacing? I'm also hoping to find the least expensive route to repairing this problem.
I have a Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT in a Dell Inspiron 1520.
I would appreciate any help that can be provided.
Thank youWindows 7 :: Intel i7-2670QM @ 2.20 GHz

That question has been asked again, and again, and the answer is always no, because only a very few laptops, have removable video cards.
You are the first one that I have seen that dose have a removable video card.
I found these, but there may not be an upgrade, as the 8600M is the fastest, I found in a quick search.

Is there anyone out there who happens to be familiar with the procedure for replacing such a graphics card? Or if there is a helpful website for this?
Thanks again.Windows 7 :: Intel i7-2670QM @ 2.20 GHz

Probably the best you will find is the Dell instructions, I posted.
Few laptops, can be upgraded, and even fewer people do it.
I've taken apart several, and they are all different.
The single biggest task, is getting the case apart, without breaking something.Hard Sayin Not Knowin

Ouch, idle temp is way too high. Should be idle around 30-45c Top temps at load should be 80-85, anything more than 90 and its running hotter than it should. Make sure the case fans are...
