c:::HNsaw : I know what you mean. I just setup dual monitors myself a few weeks ago and I love it so much! I could never go back to one monitor. I prefer 2 17" to 1 21"...

Im about to go back...Im splitting up my two screens between two different computers. Id use a switchbox, but theyre gunna be in two different rooms.
I've disconnected my secondary until the new parts get shipped here and put together. I'm training myself to use one screen again.
I'm doing...*twitch*...alright...*twitch*...i guess |

ThanX AE,
I'm using the 21.85's right now (with the tnt2), dang, I gotta break down and buy a GForce (I'll probably just opt for the GF2 Ultra or the GF3 ti 200), budget allowing.
I'll try out those XP's.
Thanks for the info!
edit~ Oh yea, I hope the separation isn't too stressful on ya.

Ed,
Yea, I don't know why it was so much of a surprise to realize that I could use two monitors, but it was a pleasant surprise. The two 17" screens fit perfectly on my workspace and the ability to keep one screen free for graphics, whatever is great. I even pulled out the ol' 3dfx card for the second monitor.
Later all,

ATI's HydraVision Rocks- I've never seen a dual head card with software that is so comprehensive and easy to use.

Griobhta,
According to this link, "XFree86 4.0 supports this, both dual head from a single video card with multiple outputs (such as the G400) or from two separate video cards."
(I would assume that it depends which vid cards you plan on using, and if they are both supported. I followed some of the links there, but I'm not up on Linux, so I really couldn't understand much. http://www.progsoc.uts.edu.au/lists/.../msg00009.html
Drop a line if you get this working, maybe I'll set up an "XFree 86 box".
Good luck,
