ATI HD 5870 or HD 6870?
Well, I have compared them both using Video Card Comparison - GPUReview.com
and the HD 5870 seems to pack more raw power, although the 6870 performs a bit better in benchmarks (PassMark Software - Video Card Benchmarks - High End Video Cards). Is this because the 6xxx series use the "Barts" chip instead of Cypress?
So, which one would you go with and why?
Thanks in advance for your answers :)

bump, it urges me a little :(

Welcome to TechIMO!
You are only supposed to bump once a day, but since you are in a hurry, you are stuck with me, instead of the real video card experts.
Not a gamer, but I can read.
First, Pass mark is good for the general picture, but is notoriously inaccurate, when the cards are close in performance.
I use it all the time for the general picture, but for cards, that are close in performance, I further look for real bench marks, or posts from people that have used both.
Passmark is artificial, from unknown systems, and unknown users.
I couldn't find any real world bench marks, but all the posts I found, say the 5870 if faster.
In addition the 5870 uses more power, and can't be used in CrossFire.
Edit ; Apparently I misunderstood the post as the 5870 can be used in CrossFire. It sounds like the 6870 scales better in CrossFire, though.
Here is a theoretical comparison, that has always seemed pretty close to real world performance.

If you can wait till this evening, we do have some real experts, and you won't be disappointed.
By the way, we never make a video card recommendation, without the total watts, 12volt amps, and brand name of your power supply.

if you can nab the 5870 for less than it costs or just slightly more than the 6870 costs, then go for it, otherwise forget it and just grab the 6870 (which is priced well below the $200 mark these days)
Even when the 6870 came out it was cheaper than the 5870. mainly because its not the replacement for it, that falls on the shoulders of the 6950/6970.
If you can hold out another month or two, the newer Radeon 7800's should be coming out in that time, and from what I've seen if leaked specs they should be better yet, even beyond the 6870's.

I can get the 5870 refurbished for 145€ and the 6870 for 148, so it doesnt really makes a difference :D . Anyway, I dont want to spend more than 200, and Im afraid the 7xxx series will be over that price. Thanks for your time
