    New Graphics Card Advice

So I posted an earlier thread, on what graphics card I should upgrade to from my PNY Nvidia Geforce 9800GT XLR8. I was recommended the EVGA GeForce GTX 460 SSC+ 1GB PCI Express (PCIe) Dual DVI Video Card w/HDMI & HDCP Support EVGA 01G-P3-1380-RX GeForce GTX 460 SSC+, and the Newegg.com - SAPPHIRE Vapor-X 100328VXL Radeon HD 6770 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card.

About to buy the GTX 460 SSC, all the places I checked were sold out! And trust me, I went through a ton of google web pages. So now I have to look for a different one.

For around my range, 100-150, what would be a similiar or even better? (Gaming wise, performance wise). I replaced my PSU with OCZ OCZ500SXS-B StealthXStream 500W ATX12V EPS12V Computer Power Supply.

So I will be able to upgrade more things. Thank you for your suggestions!

ASUS EAH5850 Radeon HD 5850 1GB DDR5 PCI Express (PCIe) Dual DVI Video Card w/HDMI, DisplayPort & HDCP Support ASUS EAH5850/G/2DIS/1GD5

Would be as good if not better (that EVGA GTX 460 SSC was HIGHLY Overclocked, and probably as good as the 5850, but comparing stock clock speeds, the 5850 is a faster more powerful card than a stock GTX 460 1GB)

if you have 9.5 inches of length back to front, it should fit.

Maybe factor in an extra inch for the Power connectors, but if you have that much length to accomodate it, it will fit, if not, then you'll need to find a different card.

a step down in performance from the GTX 460 is the GTX 550 Ti, which is a hair better than the radeon 6770.

eVGA 01G-P3-1556-KR GeForce GTX550 Ti FPB 1GB PCI Express 2.0 x16 Video Card. Retail Box 119.99

that card would fit your system for sure.

    Otherwise Brand new in box....

    Newegg.com - EVGA 01G-P3-1361-KR GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) 1GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

Its not the SSC model, but its still a GTX 460.

$10 more gets you the Super Clock version: Newegg.com - EVGA SuperClocked 01G-P3-1363-KR GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) 1GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

the SSC+ is the Super Super Clock+ version of these 2.

In fact both of those are clocked WAY higher than stock GTX 460 1GB Clocks anyways.

nVidia GeForce GTX 460 1GB Video Card - Reviews, Specifications, and Pictures - GPUReview.com

675MHz is the default Core clock speed, that $150 model is 823MHz Core.

Which ironically is 1MHz faster than a stock clock GTX 560 card (and the fact the GTX 560's core is a revised GTX 460 core, so that 460 should be as good as a $175-200 GTX 560 card)
