Help With Adding Two Screens on One Computer
Hey Guys,
I came across the forum while searching on Google for answers, but couldn't find anything that was really helpful.
I have the following graphics card;
Name: ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 Series
Chip Type: ATI Radeon Graphics Processor
DAC Type: Internal DAC (400MHz)
Approx. Total Memory: 543 MB
Current Display Mode: 1280 x 1024 (32 bit) (60Hz)
I am currently using a 19 inch flat panel monitor, and want to add another 19 inch monitor with the "Extend Screen" capability.
Now, the only problem is that I only have one VGA port. Would I need to change my graphics card or can I get some adapter?
Thanks in advance,

What type of computer or motherboard do you have? You could add a second graphics card if you have a spare AGP, PCI or PCIe slot.

You're likely better off buying a replacement card than a second one...
Your best off with an ATI card on the lowend, but some Nvidia models will do as well...
Whats your budget and what is the power supply brand and +12V amperage from the sticker inside?

Mother Board: Hewleet-Packard Asterope 1.0
Bus Clock: 200 megahertz
Money is not an issue, just need something decent.
I have no idea on what power supply brand I have. The computer is a HP desktop, the HP Pavilion a1420n.
What are some graphic cards that I can use? A link to some product listings from newegg/ncix would be helpful.
Thanks guys

Look at the PSU sticker. It should say the 12 amp rating. We will need this.

Here is the power supply information
Brand: HIPRO
Model: HP-D3057F3R
I've attached the label for the power supply. If you can't see the attachment, see it here.
Thanks

We have used these USB to VGA adapters for that very thing here at work and they work really well. We use them for desktops with built in graphics that we want to give a second monitor to.

You pretty much just run in the water towards the other side, the resistance of the water makes it a real challenge.
