What type of ATI should i buy?-HELP-

I'm planning to by a new graphics card because my old one (9800GT 512mb, 256bit) died today !
I am planning to get the 6570 from ATI Radeon but i saw a lot of game plays on yt and they are very slow...but than i saw something on ATI site , the 6570 has a v like: 512mb and GDDR5 witch makes it more faster than the DDR3 version! In my country is <100$ <3 and for 60W graphics card is so great!!!! Im in love with that card !!!! So if you know any card ( nvidia-ATI) that performs like a 9800GT will be soo great !!!

-Thx for reading this post , and if you want you can check me out on yt : /Adapter45

What Brand and Model of PSU do you have? Whats the Wattage rating and the +12V Amp Rating?

whats the rest of your system Specs?

CPU, Motherboard?

500W does tell anything other than its supposed max output rating.

Tells nothing of the Quality of the PSU (reason need the brand name), doesn't state anything in regards to the +12V Rail Amp Rating, or any other info that may be obtained from looking it up.

You need to look at the label on the PSU to get that info.

Also what is your budget for spending on the card?

There can be a night and day difference, between 2-500watt power supplies.
That's why we need the brand, at least, and to save us work, the 12volt rail/s amps as well as the 12volt combined watts, if more than 1 12volt rail.

We also DO need your motherboard name and model, as well as case size, or we are waisting time.

I left out the case size inquiry, since a 9800GT isn't that small, most were single slot cards, though some were dual slot, but most unless it was one of the later revised reduced spec models were average length around 8 inches or so.

most $60-100 range cards now days are at least as good if not better than the 9800GT. and use much less power.

but knowing what the CPU you have is, just in case it may be too slow for a recommendation for a better card (if the CPU is too slow it can choke a newer video card preventing you from obtaining optimum performance)

We are on the same wave length, I actually went back to see if I missed something, when you didn't ask about the case.
I guessed, it might be card size.

so the +12V Rail only has 18A? is there only one +12V or is there something like +12V1 & +12V2?

if there is only a single +12V and putting out only 18A, you'll want an upgraded PSU as well.

18A is only 216W, and on a 500W PSU thats pathetically low.

all Video cards use the +12V rail on a PSU, most current PC's as well for the last half decade also mainly use the +12V (motherboards, which then divert power to the CPU, RAM, HDD, etc) and only tap into the 3.3 and 5V Rails as needed.

but since the Video card uses the 12V rail, it mainly sucks most of the power the system has to use.

Many PSU's can not use the maximum values for 3.3, 5 & 12V all at once, as most have a combined maximum output to their rated value.

I just added up the totals too, the 3.3, 5 & 12V values listed above don't even max out at 500W, your looking at 445W or so max.

Galaxy makes some decent Video cards, but I'm unsure of their PSU's and quality.

If it were me I'd consider replacing the PSU as well, surprised the 9800GT ran in that system as long as it did.

since it draws 105W of power: nVidia GeForce 9800 GT Video Card - Reviews, Specifications, and Pictures - GPUReview.com

Your missing a lot of other info asked for. The motherboard model isn't a gigabyte (Your missing a lot of the model numbers info between Gigabyte and SL2, you got the Brand name, and the last part of the Models designation but nothing else) SL2

and Socket 775 doesn't tell us anything about the CPU, only the socket design that the CPU fits in.

So the death of my 9800GT was abou the psu? I don't think so! Is because the video card quality! If 9800GT was played the batt 3 game at high sett and it worked fine ...than 6570 GDDRS will work pretty fine , cuz it use only 60W and give some good fps on battlefield 3!so for that card do I really need to buy a better psu? If the 9800GT was working on this psu ... The 6570 will work fine too?and ill make the test thing and ill post it soon as possible I can cuz right now I'm at school.
