Problems with my GTX 560
So I purchased an EVGA GTX 560 late December last year and everything has been running great and I could not be happier. However the past few days I have been receiving alot of issues.
First of all Im running on a 42 inch TV using HDMI, I was playing a game when it went black and i couldnt do anything but force a restart, everything ran fine but there was no output on the TV. Now throughout my experiences with Nvidia cards I get Drivers stopped responding but successfully recovered many many times, too many to count, and Ive never been able to fix it. Only a couple times with this 560 in the early days did i get this, but lately i got alot of them. Even now my W7 on restart after forcing one tells me im getting bluescreens. The 560 nearly shuts off when the crash happens.
To make a long story short, i need to know what is wrong with my card, im using my backup 9800GT at the moment. My theorys are:
1. Overheating-Impossible this card cools extremely well and EVGA precision has the fan speed at a constant 75%
2.Drivers-I despise why my video drivers never keep from crashing but this may be destroying my card.
3.Power issues- Possible however i should have been having these issues months ago. i have a 630 watt Raidmax PSU which should be just fine right?

What are the actually temperatures of the card? MSI afterburn should give you a good view on it. Then heatsink may be good and the fan may be running near 100% but if theres improper / loose contact with the gpu and the heatsink it wouldn't matter if it's running a water cooling setup, it'll overheat.
Second, have you tried a few different variation of drivers and make sure to clean out the old ones properly then reboot before the next install?
Raidmax is a trash brand, don't mean to be blunt, they are. I had a "420w" Raidmax back in the day running a system much less intense and it slowly started to fail, over about a years time I got symptons very similar to what you described. Sadly when my Raidmax crapped out, it took the cpu and memory along for the ride as well
The point being, is I wouldn't trust the PSU regardless here.
Is there another pc you test the card in, perhaps a friends?
With the 9800gt as the backup, is it running silky smooth?Main PC: AMD FX-8350 / 16gb DDR3 1600 / AMD 7970GE 1200mhz Core & 1600mhz Mem / Win7 Pro 64bit

I have not had any problems with my 9800GT as of yet however i have only had it in a few hours.
Trust me i believe you when you say Raidmax is trash, feel free to link me a better one. haha
Frankly I have alot of old driver files in the C/Nvidia/DisplayDriver folder, but im not sure what to do with them. Also i believe the card should be fine, 28-35 Degrees C idle and really not very high under load, i never have seen it go over 100 whereas my 9800GT has done so a few time. Ive got my RMA ready to issue i think just in case. Im looking for a co2 spray can to clean everything with but i cant find one so far in this middle of nowhere town i live in

Try the Power settings for PCI Express in Windows control panel, that I've posted a couple times on here, that can sometimes help with Windows Video drivers failing to respond and restart.

Yeah, I know I changed it a while back as well, and when I went in there the other day it was also on Max Power savings. Though a week or so ago I completely wiped my old Video drivers and installed new ones, so maybe that reenabled it or something, but with Windows you can never know LOL.

no, the fan should be fine, though you might want to run something like EVGA Precision or MSI Afterburner and set the fan speed to Auto, so it runs lower RPM at lower temps, higher RPM at higher temps.

i do run EVGA precision but i dont trust it, ahaha multiple times it has let my card get very high temps without changing the fan speed. A manual constant 75% usually keeps it undercontrol

well what temps was it getting at?
If they were under 90-95C, then it was doing its job.
Very high for these cards is 80-95C.
too High would be beyond that, and keep in mind some games run these cards harder than others.
you can also set up a fan speed/temp curve and have the fans RPM increased at lower temps if you wanted to try to keep it from hitting that high.i7 940//Corsair H60//EVGA X58 SLI LE//6GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz//2x EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB SLI//NZXT Hale82 850W//CM 690 II Advanced//Win7 64//WD 74GB V-raptor, 750GB Black, 1.5TB Green

use driversweeper if you reinstall it. when uninstalled the other card, just set it to standard vga graphics adapter so driversweeper can definately delete all the nvidia files.
what driver version came on the 560's CD? and what driver version did you use when it kept crashing?
Wow.. 100C or F? What case are you using? Also is the dust blown out of the card?

Ive always just uninstalled from Device manager and installed Nvidias latest drivers. Also i have no idea what drivers are on the CD, i never use CD drivers unless i have to.
Ironically i also have a Raidmax case i believe, with the front drive panels taken off for air flow, and even now i have the side panel off for quick card replacement.

If 285.79.. try maybe the 285.62 whql drivers or some other older ones.

285.62, is the current official drivers, if your running .79, their probably beta drivers, I'd be running the 62's right now instead.
