    New XFX Radeon HD 7770

Anybody bought one of the new HD 7770 cards yet? The $169.99 looks very reasonable to me. Am I missing something? (Other than New Egg recommending a 1000W to 1250W PSU for sale too?

$170... I've seen them on newegg for closer to $150-155.

The 7770 for some reason is being marketed as the "GHz Edition" since its clocked at 1GHz core speed.

as nice as they are, only pulling 80 Something watts of power, and competing in performance against the older Radeon HD 6850 range of performance. The Price is still too High IMO.

and since it is being marketed as the GHz Edition, makes me wonder what other variants they have to release for it yet? Lower performing or a higher end one maybe?

Its little brother the 7750 is shaping up to be a sweet HTPC gaming card as well, only 55W and it competes against the older 6770 pulling nearly twice as much power.

I am on some mailing list so in comes the email and I followed the link. There ARE three versions which look very much alike, only small, incremental differences in the clock speeds. But, I followed the link at the bottom of the page for New Egg and the prices are $169.99, $159.99 and $149.99 ( I think, I was at work and was logged in to my ISP mail account in two places ) But the differences were small. Interestingly, a new design where the plastic cover apparently floats UP when the fans run at X speed, allowing for increased air flow. So why would New Egg insinuate that it was an excellent match for the new high wattage PSU's? Ah, increased sales from Noobs!
