    Motherboard compatible Graphics card?

    Hi all,

So recently i had purchased a new PC. Here are it's specs
    Asus Motherboard P8H61-M LX
    Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2400 CPU @3.10GHz
    RAM - 4.00GB DDR3
32Bit OS running on Win7 Ultimate
    Nvidia GeForce 210

Now i feel that i have made a bad choice on the graphics card and want a good graphics card which will support my PC specifications. It should be able to run any game smoothly.
    Any suggestions?

    Greatly appreciated!

We are gonna need the PSU amps on the 12 volt rail. Look at the sticker on the PSU.

Also bad choice on the OS, should of gone with 64-bit. with a Good 1GB Video card, you'll have less than 3GB of usable RAM with 32-bit Windows.

A little lost here really. Not sure what that means. But heres whatever is written on the inside of my CPU on the sticker.
    AC input | 110-120/220-240~ 10/6A 60/50Hz
    DC Output | 3.3+ | +5V | +12V | -12V | +5VSB |
    | 20A | 16A | 16A | 16A | 0.5A | 2.5A |
    MAX output |120W | 276W |6W | 12.5W |
    The +3.3V & +5V & +12V total output shall not exceed 327.9W

Apologies about the "|". It is to make it look as how it appears on the sticker. It is in the form of a table sort of thing. I have tried to align whatever was aligned in the table as much as possible.
Hope its the right thing though :s

About the OS, i can always change it to a 64-bit one. Your right about the RAM. My usable RAM is only 2.99GB. And my graphics card is 1GB.

    Welcome to TechIMO!

Pretty much, if you don't have a specific reason to use a 32 bit operating system, and there are few, you should get 64bit.

As you can see, 32 bit addresses 4gig total, meaning all RAM, which includes video, BIOS, video BIOS, and more.
64 bit Home Premium addresses 16gig, and the more expensive versions, address, 192gig.

What brand is the power supply.
    It doesn't look good.

The important numbers are the 12v1, and 12v2.
Each 12v rail can put out 16amps, but it is of so poor quality, it can't run both a 16amps at the same time.
The 276watt total 12v number tells us this.
    276/12 = 23amps.
    23amps /2 = 11.5 amps 12v

A computer is not called a CPU, the CPU is the processor itself. It is just a computer, or the case.
Something the non geeks came up with.

A good brand name $50 power supply, will run a $100 to $125 video card.

So a worthwhile upgrade will cost about $150.

well considering going 64-bit enables more RAM for the system to use, that leaves more RAM for the games to use (up to however much the games are hard coded to use, usually up to 2 or 3GB max), and if the game is capable of running in a 64-bit Executable (one example is Crysis) it will run with better performance on a 64-bit enabled CPU, with OS and Game all 64-bit. Otherwise, it runs 32-bit natively with in the 64-bit OS.

there's really no reason not to run 64-bit for gaming these days, aside from Workstation tasks and the like, the only people that really don't need to run 64-bit are basic use users, Web, Email, and really mundane tasks.

or like an old system, that can not run more 2gig RAM. 64 bit might run slower in that case.

Still waiting on the power supply brand name.
How much do you want to spend, and we can make recommendations.

$60 or $70 power supply, and a $150 and up video card, is the next level.

Its pretty simple, its the big box thing inside the case that the wall outlet plugs into, you can't miss it.

as to your 2nd question, until the PSU question is answered that question can not be answered either.

    Probably not a brand name.

It only has 23amps, combined 12v.

    It won't run a 560ti, that's for sure

I can't seem to find the info for Windows 7 DVD's but I know with Vista you could contact MS and they'd send you out a copy of the 64bit DVD. You'd have to do a fresh install and could only run one or the other (your product key works on both but you can only use one at a time).

I thought Ultimate Edition came with both versions, just had to choose which... or I seem to remember someone with Ultimate telling me that?
