We will need more on your current configuration along with the price range on how much you would like to spend. What are your expectations? Are you planning on gaming with your 17inch monitor, or just need a replacement video card?
Your Powersupply specs are important along with your CPU. Is it a Pentium D, Core 2 Duo? What model exactly?
Give or take the specs on your pc, will you be considering to upgrade your monitor? If not, then you wouldnt need to much of a powerful video card to support 1280x1024.

Also what operating system are you using.
Need to also know what your Motherboard is, and what Slots you have available for Video card Upgrades?
Is this PC a Prebuilt Factory one, if so, what is the Brand, Model?
IF its custom built, what is the exact model of Motherboard in it?i7 940//Corsair H60//EVGA X58 SLI LE//6GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz//2x EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB SLI//NZXT Hale82 850W//CM 690 II Advanced//Win7 64//WD 74GB V-raptor, 750GB Black, 1.5TB Green
