Radeon HD 4870 can't update, please help!
Hi guys,
I just changed my motherboard (to GA-970A-DS3) and had to reinstall Win 7. Now I'm trying to update my graphics driver. I updated a lot of times and now I believe I have 12.5 BETA but whan I check the info on ATI CCC it says 09.7. It always says 09.7. Even if I update to 12.3 or 12.4 or even 12.5 BETA, in the info it shows 09.7. What the hell?
Does anyone know anything about this bull****? AMD seems to play another prank on me. Please let me know if you had the same problem or know anything about it.
Respect

Hello and Welcome to TechIMO!

Are you making sure to download the whole suite and are not just updating the individual driver?
You want want to try to do an individual uninstall of the CCC first then use a program like driver cleaner to remove and previous installs. Once done, try to download the entire suite and reinstall.Main PC: AMD FX-8350 / 16gb DDR3 1600 / AMD 7970GE 1200mhz Core & 1600mhz Mem / Win7 Pro 64bit

Yes, I downloaded the whole package of 170 sth MB. I also used a software to clean any ATI leftover before install. It didn't change the situation. Should I uninstall everything, sweep any leftover install only CCC and then install the driver?

Well today is the first day of drill training and active service for my son in the National Guard! :) So proud of that kid. Starting out early too.
