    Need help.

So my default graphics card that came with my computer, a Inspiron 518, was a
    Ati radeon hd 3400 series..

It didn't work well with diablo 3 so i looked on newegg and bought
    a Xfx radeon hd 6750.

it came in the mail today.

i opened up my pc and i tried to take the graphics card out, but it wouldn't budge.
i didn't see any screws or anything to take the card out..

I'm really new to this so there might be a possibility this new graphics card won't work on my computer..

But someone told me to try it before i go further..

    can someone help me?

This should walk you through it
    Documentation

Now that said, if you haven't already you'll need to replace the power supply before adding in that card. It requires more power than your current card and power supplies in pre-built systems like Dell, HP ect are notoriously under rated.

Best case scenario, it just doesn't run or doesn't run very well. Worst case scenario, it burns out the power supply and takes out your entire system.

I can't find the details on the power supply other than it being a 300w unit, which is def. under powered for that card.

    This is very confusing..
I turned off my system and I tried unscrewing the card.
    It still won't budge.

The other problem i found was that the blue cord from my monitor plugs in to the graphics card..
the cord doesn't fit my new graphics card.
So even if i do install my new card, my monitor won't go inside.

Well there's a retention clip at the back of the card that holds it into place you need to release that. As for the monitor connection it sounds like you have a VGA monitor and DVI ports on the card. There should be an adapter in the box with the card.

Perhaps you should search YouTube for a visual tutorial sometimes that helps when written explanations don't work.

But again I WOULD NOT run that card until you replace the power supply.

Do they even HAVE a "Card" from what I can tell those 518's have onboard video, there is no card.

So if they're unscrewing something and pulling on it, with onboard video their potentially damaging their PC.

And if they have a standard VGA connection for the monitor, the video card should of came with a VGA to DVI adapter. if it didn't they would need to buy one, so that they can have VGA Analog output connection to the monitor.

pay attention... where do you see anyone saying you can't? No where.

The directions Rich posted, if you looked, shows how to install a Video card in the PC.

    And Think...

If it wasn't possible would I have bothered to mention using a VGA to DVI adapter on the video card?

where is this Radeon 3400 your supposedly removing.

Is it actually located in one of the Expansion slots the Video card is supposed to fit into.

Or does your monitor plug into its port in the location where the USB and Audio ports are located?

yeah, the monitor directly plugs inside it so im assuming it's not an actual slot.
there is another slot for a card though

Good question, I assumed someone with a new card in hand would know what the old card should look like and what they are removing, especially if they look at the link I gave as comparison.

If you can't afford a new PSU now, then hold on to the card and save up for one. If you watch Newegg you can get a good unit that will run that card for under $50.

That says Radeon HD 3450, there are 3400's (onboard) and 3450's.

the OP needs to be specific exactly what they have.

That first link is what I found doing searches, it clearly has Onboard video from where the Monitor connector is. Every Motherboard with Onboard video for the past 10-15 years has had its Monitor connector located in that area.

To the Original Poster, take a picture of what you have in your PC (take side panel off, and take a clear and detailed picture of the inside of your case) and post it in the thread here.
