6950 dcii and 6950 =12 displays

Is it possible to run 12 small displays like 17'' dells from 8 in the dcii 6950 using for example a dual mini DP-DVI or dual DP-HDMI-DVI and then four displays in the other 6950 which has 2xDP and 2xDVI?

In order to have 12 displays with different content on each display:

In addition and for arguments sake would it be possible to game on the 12 displays?

I have core i7 unlocked 2600k and Gigabyte P67-D3-B3, 650w PSU

if not what would be the benefits of choosing two 6870 eyefinity 6 cards over this?

benefits.... lower power consumption, more room in case (One less slot taken up), lower heat produced... about it.

oh, and probably cheaper a bit as well.
