Galaxy GC 670 Edition - Boost Speeds
Hi Guys,
I have purchased the Galaxy 670 GC Version 2 Edition. Now im just curious and if anyone can explain why Im getting such fast Boost Clock speeds. Im using Gpu-z to test my Core clock, and when I ran crysis 2 in window mode to view GPU-z at the same time, My core clock was hitting 1170mhz. It was averaging about 1150mhz and dropped to about 1130mhz. Now Im confused because the Boost clock speed on the box says 1084Mhz like many 670 oc editions and core clock of 1006mhz.
Is this normal for the nvidia GPU boost technology for me to hit these speeds, or am I just lucky to be hitting these speeds with a good chip on my hands. Because I did read that 1084mhz maybe means that core clock is the minimum GPU boost Garunteed by the Manufacturer, but im not sure. Can anyone clarify this GPU boost tecnology and why im hitting 1170mhz core clocks? Im not overclocking the card and have left the card as it is straight out of the box.

Ps, i Made a thread some time ago about trading my 7970 for a GTX 670. And am suprised how much faster the GTX 670. In crysis 2, Im getting about more Fps, on 1080P now than when i was running on 1680x1050. Mind you the 7970 was overclock maxed out on catalyst. The card is performing slightly more fps on higher resolution. When I set the card on 1680x1050, the same as the 7970. I would definately be getting atleast 10fps more than the overclocked 7970. Alot more than all the reviews say. SO i dont know why, and how. Could just be the 1 game. but am definately loving the new card, and the fact that its so quiet.Last edited by DanielMsi; June 13th, 2012 at 12:35 AM.

The site is still hosed for me. In other news, it's still 78° here. It's supposed to hit 100° tomorrow.
