is my 6950 busted?

Just got a new sapphire 6950 2gb oc edition.

Seems to be working ok, until today.

First off, Rage runs like garbage on it, and I thought it was just due to Open GL, but a lot of people on forums are saying after the patches the game runs great. I can get above 30 frames.

The card came with Battlefield 3, and the game runs on ultra, but after about 5 minutes the card starts to do some off things.

First Windows throws up a box saying hey you computer is running slow, want me to switch off aero?

Then sometimes my computer will make a few beeps (through the speakers of my headset not the motherboard) and the game will lock up. My guess is that the card is over heating.

If i move the sliders at all in the CCC the card will lock up even faster. So im pretty sure its over heating.

The card gets to about 70-75 C when playing, but that doesnt seem very high to me. I could be totally wrong. I should note that the card is idel at about 60C with the fan at about 45 %...which does seem high to me.

my question is should I get a different card?
