$125 23" IPS LED computer Monitor by LG
Although marked "Refurbished" experience with this vender is that items NOT marked "B" or "C" class of "Refurbished are brand new or near brand new i.e. box opened and closed. 3 month warrentee. Retail box.
For those who are not familier with Monitor technology, there are three basic types: Twisted Nematic (TN) which is the cheapest and often the fastest so is often preferred by gamers. However, color rendition is generally the poorest and view from an angle is poor.
Traditionaly the highest class were the IPS or Incline Plane Switching which allow for superior color rendition, beter static graphics, and a wider viewing angle. However, the speed is often the slowwest and more generally eschewed by gamers for that reason.
The third type --which is often found in Sony and Samsing LCD Computer monitors is the Vertical Alignment(Array?) and comes in two versions p and m. Both are reputed to hang about midway between the TN and the IPS in cost, color rendition, and viewing angle.
However, the default status of pixels in VA is off and they reputedly give the darkest blacks.
A (probably) new IPS 23" computer monitor by a major name brand is a find. The price of $125 is good for today Saturday and has sold variously for $175 and $150 in the past.

PS. Any generalization about computer monitors is just that, a generalization, and individual monitors--and after all it's an individual monitor you are buying
-- can vary a great deal.
Investigate before you buy , even at great prices.
Even on mundane tasks a good monitor can make a big difference to your eyes.
I presently.
using a 5:4 HP 2 1/2 " thick steel case business monitor most of the time instead of the slim widescreen "consumer" monitors I also have because of the better text rendition, and ergonomic position changes it allows. Most wide screens I've found are over rated.
There is a video of the IPS screen included.

The current url for this IPS screen monitor is no longer a "Today's Special" and is now
23" LG IPS236V-PN DVI/HDMI Blu-ray 1080p Widescreen LG IPS236V-PN
Still $125.
Be aware that "refurbished" has multiple meanings as a practical matter ranging from a brand new but discontinued product to one that was actually used and found defective and repaired.
Be also aware that the video is not an "objective" review but a sales promotion from the vender.
The biggest negative--even at this price--is the lack of ergonomic adjustability, which is limited to some minor tilt. I am not impressed by super-slim "consumer" monitors designed for "looks" but lack height etc. Also I don't understand why 16:9 has so dominated the market when 16:10 and 5:4 and similar I find more useful.
Knowing the vender this looks like a brand new--or practically brand new-- IPS 23" computer monitor for $125.

However, if you use the super-secret code (
) TECHBARGAINS you would get 10% off so $140- $14= $126.

Maximum LCD
The July 2012 issue of Maximum PC has a review of LCD monitors, if you can get your hands on one.
The ASUS PA238Q (23") comes in first despite some note of background bleed in the upper right corner.
The issue aslo mentions whats it calls "IPS sheen" in this type of screen.
The Samsung Series 8 S27A850D 27" monitor is cited for its own proprietary type of screen called PLS or "Plane-to-Line Switching" which is a variant of IPS but renders blacks like a PVA screen (see first post).

Or, you can just hope a cop spots a thief in the act of stealing your bike. IOW, let them steal all the bikes they want because cops are busy doing other things and your bike is hardly on the top...
Do you think this was a legitimate...
