upgrade graphics card? please help!
Hi all,
I am new to the forum as i am looking at improving my performance of my PC, which is meant to be a gaming unit but i believe that the graphics card is mid performance.
my pc is a advent centurion cpd1301. (i made my first mistake by buying it from pc world - prob overpriced than if i did proper research!!!! - i got it a few years back)
I have just overclocked the AMD phenom II X2 545 from 3GHz to 3.45GHz, and whilst looking at doing this a couple of articles on the internet recommended an upgrade of the graphics card.
I mainly use my pc for flight simulator, will settings lowish at the moment but looking to increase them. I have tried but cos i have added a lot of add on scenery, aircraft and programs its not the best.
The current card is ATI Radeon HD 4600 series.
Can anyone recommend a card which would increase my performance, i have up to £200 to spend.
Cheers
Rob

I play flight simulator a lot too!

You need to list you PSU specifics from the label on the PSU. Specifically the 12 volt amp rating and brand of PSU. What is the wattage?Last edited by Taxmancometh; August 7th, 2012 at 05:36 AM.

Yes, the PSU has a sticker on it with the ratings info, brand name and a few other things. You can only see the label when you open up the PC case.
PC World do have some good quality gear amongst their overpriced tat, but I would usually rather go to an independant PC shop, Maplins or somewhere like Play.com for upgrades.Last edited by paul9; August 7th, 2012 at 09:53 AM.
