Which one is better: GT 620M or Radeon 6490M
Hi I'm going to get a new laptop very soon and I have two choices. both are on the same coast and also approximately with the same hardware with two different graphic card:
AMD Radeon HD 6490M
and
NVIDIA GeForce GT620M
What one is better?
plus unfortunately I'm pretty dump in those complex technical issues
thanks for the help.Last edited by Tommy-Gjs; August 30th, 2012 at 01:38 PM.

NVIDIA GeForce GT 620M - Notebookcheck.net Tech
GT 620M, its a higher "mid range" class 3 card (keep in mind Class 3 is pretty low end, even out of 5 Classes), while the 6490 is a lower Class 3.
if this is for gaming, BOTH cards will suck for gaming, maybe be fine with many Older games, but for newer stuff, you'll be lucky to get playable frame rates at lower settings on these.
at least on most demanding 3D games, stuff based on Source Engine games usually fare pretty well on lower hardware as well, but if your thinking COD's, BF games, and the like, probably not so much.i7 940//Corsair H60//EVGA X58 SLI LE//6GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz//2x EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB SLI//NZXT Hale82 850W//CM 690 II Advanced//Win7 64//WD 74GB V-raptor, 750GB Black, 1.5TB Green

So tell me how a class3 could be weaker than a class5 one?
I'm gonna use it for coding with stuff like visual studio and watching HD videos and running some EE programs like Orcad. with a pretty powerful core i5 processor with 8gb of ram in which uses 1333 MHz of buss.
So what's your idea could it be a decent choice?Last edited by Tommy-Gjs; August 31st, 2012 at 03:20 AM.
