Upgrading from 9500GT....Help!?
Hi,
I'm planning to upgrade my gpu from 9500gt to Hd 5570. So my question is, will there be a noticeable difference in gaming? Medium settings will work for me I just don't want the games to lag, as i'm not a hardcore gamer. I know that there are much better cards for value but guys, right now i'm really short on budget, so if u got any good advice for another card it should be around $70. I will mostly be gaming on 1280 x 1024 screen resolution. Your help is much appreciated.
Thanks!
The one I'm thinking to buy :
HIS HD 5570 iceQ (DirectX 11/ Full HD 1080p) 1GB (128bit) 500MHz DDR3 PCIe < HD 5500 Series < Desktop Graphics < Products | HIS Graphic Cards

um... wow, your giving advice in that other dudes thread, and yet can't even figure this out?
Anyways, Radeon 5570 will be a jump in performance, but not THAT huge of a jump. for $70 you can do a lot better.
and the fact the 5570 is 3 generations behind.
List the rest of your systems Specs, mainly the exact Brand, model and wattage of your Power Supply.
But I'd be looking at a Radeon HD 6670 GDDR3 for that price range.i7 940//Corsair H60//EVGA X58 SLI LE//6GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz//2x EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB SLI//NZXT Hale82 850W//CM 690 II Advanced//Win7 64//WD 74GB V-raptor, 750GB Black, 1.5TB Green

Yeah, well I gave him an advice for that 560ti cuz my friend is using that, he overclocked it, and it is now running just like a 570. He bought it for $250, and now you can get that for only $185 after rebates. Anyways, back to the topic.
My current PC specs:
Cpu: Core i3 540
Mobo: Intel Dh55pj
Ram: 8GB
PSU: Cooler Master extreme power plus 500 watts (RS-500-PCAR-A3)

PSU is fine then, and the CPU is as well.
For that $70 price, then the GDDR3 Equipped Radeon 6670 would be the best bet. If you can get an extra $15 or so, the GDDR5 6670 would be the better deal, and have even seen a couple Radeon 6750's on newegg for $85 as well, even better yet.i7 940//Corsair H60//EVGA X58 SLI LE//6GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz//2x EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB SLI//NZXT Hale82 850W//CM 690 II Advanced//Win7 64//WD 74GB V-raptor, 750GB Black, 1.5TB Green

Pointless, its at most, same as a 6670, but probably less in performance and uses twice the power plus they run hotter.
Unless you can get the card for 50 bucks, it wouldn't he worth it, a DDR3 6670 would be still better.i7 940//Corsair H60//EVGA X58 SLI LE//6GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz//2x EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB SLI//NZXT Hale82 850W//CM 690 II Advanced//Win7 64//WD 74GB V-raptor, 750GB Black, 1.5TB Green
