Faulty card?
Sitting with an old Nvidia GeForce GTX 280 that's probably about to die. But before I buy a new card I would like your opinion on my problem. I play Diablo 3 a lot, and that's when it started. Whenever I get my PC out of sleep mode and start the game, it freezes up and this weird colored mosaic pattern fills the screen. I then do a hard reset and start the game again, and everything runs smoothly. A few times this has happened when I'm in Windows, but it does this every time I play the game after sleep mode.
I tried playing Dead Space 2 for about 40 mins and nothing happened. I've checked Blizzard forums if anyone has had similar problems with Diablo 3 but I seem to be the only one. I've cleaned the GPU fan and checked the temp so it's not an over heating issue, and I always use the latest drivers. Since this has happened while idle in Windows I'm almost certain it has nothing to do with the game. I should look for a new card, right?

how about disabling sleep/hibernate mode in windows, and just let the PC sit idle for a few hours or however long it is it sits, then try playing the game and see if you have problems still.
since this seems to be an issue with recovering from sleep mode, might as well turn it off, and test first to see if that makes any difference.i7 940//Corsair H60//EVGA X58 SLI LE//6GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz//2x EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB SLI//NZXT Hale82 850W//CM 690 II Advanced//Win7 64//WD 74GB V-raptor, 750GB Black, 1.5TB Green
