I am looking for an LCD that is 15" or 17".
DVI is basically a Must (for future compatibility), and I want it to be bright and vibrant. Also, it must play DVDs and Game very very well. A little bit of ghosting (just a very little bit) is acceptable.
Does such a beast exist? Oh yes. Black is a major plus.
Thanks in advance,
Cody

sure do. i'd suggest you look at a 17" line even if it's a bit more expensive since the 15". while adequate in size, limits ya to 1024 res.
the samsung lcd's get uniformly good reviews...you need to check their dvi capability though. i'm not sure if they have it on both input (obviously if you're only using single input this is a moot point). nec also makes a very good one. viewsonics are good as well though their plastics come a bit softer than i like (easily scratched)
i currently use eizo 15" & 18" lcds and while they have beautiful image quality & excellent pixed respnse times (and come in black), they are a bit too expensive for what typical users want to spend.

I guess most 15" LCDs are Analog... is there much (if any) of a difference between Analog and DVI?

there is supposedly a small visible difference, but i have never done any hard side by side comparisons between the two.
most good lcd's with dual inputs usually offer at least one dvi interface.
edit:
oh i forgot, lcd's are inherently digital. if your's comes with an analog cable then you're already dealing with a less than optimal image (according to the 'numbers').

Yeah the whole Digital-Analog-Digital thing bothers me.
Does anyone else know of any "Hidden" models that I'm not seeing?

Seems like someone around here recently mentioned a GVision 17" advertised at CompUSA for $400 after $100 MIR. I looked up the specs and they were very respectable, however, for that
price, the 20ms response time,(which should be very important to a gamer), I have reservations about, because they don't say
how it's calculated.(There is some disparity in how this number is
reported - probably because of the marketing depts'. push to be
competitive).
I found the three part series on LCDs at www.tomshardware.com
to be very helpful in understanding all of the terms related to this
relatively new display technology.
