Dual head question

I have a duel head card a Geforce 4 Ti4200, it also has TV-out.
My question is: I dont have a second monitor, but instead have a TV hooked up on the TV-out, can I use the TV on the second head and get the functionality of a second monitor on the TV rather than the boring tv-out clone mode?

On most ATi cards, there are two independent output channels - one is VGA-only, the other is DVI/VGA/TV and can run either DVI, DVI+TV, CRT, or TV. So with one of those you can achieve your goal ... provided that operating system and drivers let you.
