Laptop Graphics Cards

I am new to this forum so greetings all.
I have been interested in buying the Gforce 4 440 Go for my laptop and it specifies that it is external does this mean that i can use it outside of my laptop becuase you see i am only looking for a graphics card update and so far i have only got negative responses from people saying that you can't upgrade the graphics on a laptop because the card is soldered to the motherboard. So i was wondering if anyone in this forum can tell me is the Gforce4 440 Go card any different is it external if you get what i mean please reply as quickly as possible and all infomation will be greatly appreciated

on The dell insperon you have the option of popping out the graphics chip and replacing this. They did this so that after taking a persons money by selling him a laptop with a Radeon7500 chip, they can take more money from him when the 9000 chip came out. They also give you the option of a GeForce4GO, but i duno why anyone in their right mind would take that option.

Thx for your help by the way i know i'm an idiot thats why came to this forum, but is there anyway at all though that i could improve my Lap tops current video memory to at least 32meg (it is at 7meg now) without buying a whole new laptop???
