Taskbar w/ Dual Monitors Question

I have a dual monitor setup. my main display runs a gf3 ti200. my secondary runs a very crappy 4mb matrox pci card. my question is, is there a way to get the taskbar to be on both displays at the same time without simply cloning the display? btw, i run xp pro. thanks!

ps. also, can you have a diff background for each monitor?

You can get one of those options, or the other, but not both. The only caviat (sp?) is that you have to have a dual-head video card to do either of those. You can't do either of those with separate cards. (At least that is my experience with current software)

Hmmm i was given a link to some software that should allow the taskbar to be spread across the 2 monitors.... but i don't know if that will work with 2 car setups....

If you had a nvidia card that has dual output, then you can easily setup the different background's on each monitor using the NView desktop manager.

Also i noticed in the latest 41.03 drivers (quadro drivers) there is also an option of extending the task bar on both monitors..... i havent had any luck with this yet, but i am thinking its cuz i run the 2 monitors at a different resolution so the taskbar on the 2nd monitor is actually off the screen... if ya understand what i'm trying to say.....
