    Monitor Ghost Images

I have a Mag 986FS monitor.. on a p4 box, running winxp prof. Just about 2 weeks ago I noticed something weird going on with my screen... On both sides there are semi circles... moving out from about the middle of both sides. ))) ((( I think they are caused by electrical interference... does anyone know how close printers and speakers can be to not have this happen... the more pressing concern is ghost images that have appeared.. they follow everything.. including my mouse. I don't have a background and I've turned off shadows in winxp.. does anyone have any clues to help me out? thanks

    it could be emi.

have you added any appliances, lights, etc since the problem first appeared. fluorescent lights are really bad for monitors. it doesn't have to be near the crt for it to affect the image...just being on the same circuit will be enough.

    edit:

i'm assuming you fiddled with the crt controls and degaussed already...

Nothing new... but my room is a big mess. I have way too much electrical appliances throughout... but if nothing new was added then no new problems should come up correct?

Yep, sounds like Moire; usually can be adjusted by the monitor controls..... dig deep, the settings for moire are not right up top on some monitors menus.

Thanks for the info.. I don't know what I did but it looks like the ghost images are gone.. before I tried to adjust the monitor. Could be some ghost or something... who knows.. but if it comes back i know where to look to try and fix it..

yea thanks Tekk.. I know it's a mess.. you wanna come clean it up a little?
