Just a question regarding about LCD Monitors (BTW You should be all aware that LCD Monitors saves space plus they have less radiation or no radiation at all).
I do gaming with my computer system and currently I have a GeForce4 Ti4600 Video Card with 2 types of connectors. I'm currently using a KDS Visual Sensations VS-7i 17" Monitor. I have a really big dilemma with the LCD Monitors, though. If I do a lot of gaming, and if I have the GeForce4 Ti4600 Card, then do you think that even though I do a lot of gaming, move to a "flat" LCD Monitor instead? If not, what would be the negative effects of using an LCD Monitor with games? |

>what would be the negative effects of using an LCD Monitor with games provided that you purchase a newer generation lcd with fast response times (20-30ms) you probably won't see any problems with games & movies as far as image ghosting. and it'll be breeze "lugging" that around for lan parties.
the problem is that such a lcd in the size you need (17-18") is going to cost you a bit of dough...in the range of $800-950. |

some of the nec models have the right response times but also pay attn to the contrast ratios as well. get a min of 300...better if 350.
oh, the 17-18" lcds run optimally at 1200x1024 resolutions. if you play games or use your monitor at something higher, ie. 1600x, you probably won't be happy with the image quality. 1600x will require a 19-20" unit which are quite expensive. |

LCD=Liquid Crystal Display.
TFT= True Flat Type (I think.  )
For games, I think CRT flat monitors (19 in or bigger) are the best in terms of visual experience. | |

TFT = thin-film transistor
CRTs are fine along as they dont catch fire |

no they are really better for gaming and graphic design because the flat screens dont show the "real" tint of the color

like most things in life, you get what you pay for.
a high quality lcd will do games & colors just fine, but it will cost a lot more than a comparable crt setup.
edit:
ps. frankly, the early generation lcd's were crap, but that's not the case anymore. i've converted from all crts to lcds on all my boxes and my eyes have thanked me for it...zero eye fatique even after HOURS of looking at the screen.
