Setting refresh rate
I must connect a win98 computer to an old monitor, which driver I can't find.
1024x768 is too small and blurry and this monitor can only display 800x600 properly (and full screen) at 85 Hz.
Is there a software to change the refresh rate ? The card is a Voodoo4. I have a video driver that allows to put a specific refresh rate, but it doesn't work well with games so I must use another driver which works well (even with BF1942 !!), but I can't use it to set the refresh rate.
I found HZtool 1.4, but it doesn't work with this setup.

Maybe the monitor doesn't support 1024 x 768 @85hz? (From the info that you gave that it is old)Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.

Many smaller monitors (13"-15") can only support 1024x768 through interlacing, which means it basically compresses a 1024x768 display into 800x600 by skipping some lines. This can result in a very ugly-looking picture, especially if the monitor isn't very clear anyway. I hope in your case, this isn't true

It's written on a sticker on the monitor carved in the plastic that it can go up to 1280x1024.
It's an old IBM 14R MS (June '93).
Refresh lock caused flickers when trying to use 85 Hz.
I ended up doing something I don't like : using my main monitor's driver (Proview 765) so that I could select 85.
It works, but there are also unsupported refresh rates listed, so I hope nobody will mess with it.
