why wont it work???

i just bought a GeForce4 MX420 PCI from here http://www.pny-europe.com/uk/vertomx420pci.htm and i have a packard bell MSI-6147 Motherboard here http://www.uktsupport.co.uk/pb/mb/tempest.htmand as you may have guessed i have a problem, my win98 detects the card and installs a standard graphics card and then loads windows the i install the drivers for the geforce card when done i restart but the computer never boots up after the install it just loads so far the resets. will this card work on this mobo???? or have i wasted ma money

not sure about your problems exactly but i'm guessing its your packard bell, I had soo many problems with i..it was my 1st computer couple years ago

try putting it on another pci slot

cancel win98 when it trys to install a standard it it did install and then you install your drivers it may have conflicted happens with sound cards

try booting into safe mode and removing any "ghost" devices that may bein the device manager. Also, make sure teh video card is in the PCI 1 slot.
