i've gotten it to work with 2 cards a number of times. you do need to fiddle with resource contention in some cases, particularly with the older cards or with systems with a lot of peripherals.
the biggest nightware i had was doing it for a friend's machine w/xp running an old isa sound card, nic, 2 video cards, on-board usb, modem, and scsi interface for a crappy umax scanner.
ughhh. |

I had a similar problem with XP. I had to set the PCI as the primary card in the bios. Evrerything worked great after that.
Its worth a shot I spose.
Good luck! |

oh, i forgot to mention that he also had 2 serial ports on that critter. i had to get at least 1 port working because he had a palm pilot he wanted to connect. i think i wound up having to share the second serial between the modem and the output.
i was pretty amazed that it all worked in the end. i spent several hours pulling & inserting cards of various slots to find the right order to install everything. |

What you need to try is newer drivers for the ATi card than those included with W2K. If all else fails, running the ATI card as primary (choose in BIOS) might cure it - because the older PCI card then owns the "VGA compatible" attribute which its drivers might rely on having. |

There are many ways to get windows 2000 to 'see' both cards. The first thing I need to know is if they are both pci. If one of the cards is on board it makes it a bit more difficult to enable both. |
