    VIRTUAL MEMORY VS GRAPHICS CARD??

LOW VIRTUAL MEMORY PROBELMS WITH MY WINDOWS XP
COMPUTER AUTOMATICALLY CHANGED PAGE SIZE FROM AN INITIAL SIZE OF 286-288 MB

    Computer Stats

    INTEL PENTIUM 3 PROCESSOR
    797 MHZ
    192 MB of RAM

COMPUTER NEVER HAS HAD THESE ISSUES BEFORE, BUT RECENTLY I INSTALLED AN ATI RADEON 9000 PRO 128MB GRAPHICS CARD. I HAD A 32MB ATI GRAPHICS CARD WITH SAME AMOUNT OF RAM. THE PROBLEMS SEEM TO HAVE STARTED WITH THE INSTALLATION OF THE 9000 PRO CARD??

    THE CARDS SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS ARE:
INTEL PENTIUM 4,3,2. OR ANY OTHER COMPATIBLE WITH AGP 4X/2X SLOT
    64 MB OF SYSTEM MEMORY

IN PERFORMANCE OPTIONS I HAVE PROCESSOR SCHEDULING SET FOR PROGRAMS INSTEAD OF BACKGROUND SERVICES (SHOULD I CHANGE THIS?)

AND IN MEMORY USAGE I HAVE IT SET FOR PROGRAMS INSTEAD OF SYSTEM CACHE (SHOULD I CHANGE THIS ALSO?)

PROBABLY JUST THE FACT THAT I NEED MORE RAM, BUT WHY THEN DOES ATI SAY 64MB?

    THANKS
    STEVE

Do you get this error when you boot the machine or when it shuts down.

Ok, PLEASE DON'T TALK IN CAPS, IT"S HARD TO READ.

Why not just increase the amount of virtual memory to 286-400 ?

Also if your AGP apperature is set to 128Mb it can chew up some of your ram, in the bios try setting it to 64Mb instead.

Only when the 3D rendering is actually borrowing some. That'd be physical memory then though, not virtual.
