For some reason I get an awfully low score.

My score was 590 with the following rig:

Asus A7V8X
XP1700+ @ 1.83Ghz (333Mhz fsb)
512Mb PC2700 2-2-2 settings
Asus Geforce 4 Ti4200 @ default
Quantum 30Gb ata66 7200rpm
DirectX 9.0
29.42 drivers

I know for sure I should be getting more like 1500-2000, but could it really be the drivers that are too old??

Ahh well, I received my maxtor 80Gb ata100 7200rpm disc back from rma, so a fresh clean install should do the trick.
Gonna use the 4.45 hyperion drivers, dx9 and the 42.70 drivers, that should give quite a boost over my current score.

Will keep ya guys informed as soon as I have a new benchmark.

3D Mark 2001:

1.4ghz Athlon Tbird
512mb PC133
ATI Radeon 9500 Pro

Is 4500 3DMarks bad for that Rig?

Yeah, it seems a little low. You should be above 7000 with that rig...

What do you think could be the cause of the low score?

I have about 80 gigs.

20gigs on primary drive, broken into 3 partitions at about 6gigs each.

60gigs on backup drive though I have about 8gig free.

XP Pro drive has like 3gigs free.....could it be free space or clutter? I defragmented and it didn't really help the score much.

I'm not sure what else could cause the problem.

Run "dxdiag" and make sure that you have "AGP texture acceleration" enabled.
