this really weird thing just started to happen to my computer yesterday. the problem is........ the whole screen just shifts slightly to the right/left and then returns this happens about every 10-20 seconds. is this a moniter problem? or could it be that my video card is gone bad?
moniter: ibm c72 (all drivers installed)
video card: powered by ATI radeon ve 64mb
other specs:
asus p4t-e
256 mb ram
40 gb HD
sb live 5.1

I've been having a similar problem. My second monitor screen gets very narrow and tall suddenly. Then it comes back to normal after a bit. In my case I think I'm short on power. Too many things plugged into the wall socket. Are you running a lot of stuff on one circuit?

Same here. Mine worked fine until yesterday. But I had removed one PC and set up another. The second PC must draw more power than the first. Just for laughs try plugging the monitor into a different circuit. Or else unplug non-essential stuff for a bit.
Also, try a different power cord or a lower resolution. If you have access to a different PC or monitor, try swapping things around. |

You could try uninstalling the vid card drivers and then reinstall them after a reboot. |
